Checking In and Catching Up Before CHA

So much has been happening, it's sometimes hard for me to keep up. But here I am. Ready to fill you in on what's been going on in my little world of creating and writing about paper crafting.

I have really been enjoying writing my two columns for Examiner.com. It's been great interviewing the "movers and shakers" in the scrapbooking and stamping communities, as well as hearing from and meeting so many wonderful and talented people that read my columns.

Since my last blog post, I have published 4o articles! Here are some of the highlights that you might be interested in:

Scrapbooking and Stamping column:
DC Paper Craft column:
The links on the top right connect directly to my articles. You can subscribe to receive e-mails each time I post something new so that you don't miss anything.

And you definitely won't want to miss the articles in Scrapbooking and Stamping column the last week of the month because I will be reporting from the Craft & Hobby Association Summer 2009 Trade Show (CHA) in Orlando, FL. CHA is where companies go to launch their new products to retailers and the press. I can't wait! IT'S SO EXCITING!

GASC Kicked Off Today!

The fun kicked off today in Arlington, TX at the Great American Scrapbook Convention (GASC).

Gosh, I wish I could go. They have a 3-day convention in TX and we only have 2 days in VA. But I'll take them!

I am REALLY looking forward to attending GASC in Chantilly this year.

Currently, I am scheduling interviews with a few of the Memory Makers Masters that are teaching this year at GASC. So, stay tuned for more on that front.

Let me know if you're going any of the GASC conventions.

Until next time...keep crafting!

Book Review

Don’t let the title fool you...this book is about so much more!

Ethnic Scrapbooking, by Lisa M.Sanford, is truly a book for EVERYONE, even if you don’t think of yourself as being “ethnic”.

The word “ethnic” encompasses more than just race; it also includes culture, religion, heritage, and tradition.

This book makes you think about how we tend to scrapbook our photos the old-fashion way – who, what, when, where, why, and how; and teaches you tips and techniques that will help to make your layouts more rich and meaningful.

If you want to know more about this inspiring book, that's filled with 100 color layouts that cover over 40 different countries and cultures, then please read my book review.
